The name, decoded.
PMO (project management online) plus AI as a first-class element - not a bolt-on - yields PAIMOS. The -os ending is deliberate: it places the name in a tool-naming tradition (Helios, Argos, Kairos). Pronounced pie-moss.
Three vertical strokes. The rightmost carries the P-bowl. Those three strokes encode three hidden Ps - the ones most people don't notice at first. That's the point.
- P · P · P
- Professional · Personal · Project (the three strokes)
- A I
- AI (first-class, not an integration)
- M
- Management
- O
- Online (default delivery form)
Operating (earned in v2.0 - phase 2)
Open (FOSS stance, paired with Source) - S
- System (default monolith framing)
Services (managed-capability framing)
Source (paired with Open in the FOSS reading)
Phase 2 - platform. Active since v2.0.0 (2026-04-26). The trigger was two of four criteria the project set for itself: workflow orchestration (an 11-action AI dispatcher with admin-tunable prompts and three control planes - CLI, MCP, REST) and a public API for integration (OpenAPI, self-describing schema, agent-context endpoints).
Phase 1 - foss is still active and additive. The four readings of paimos live side by side: FOSS, Services, System, and now Platform (the operating system reading). Brand colour and trademark filings are deliberately deferred - they're Phase 2 deliverables, not Phase 2 gates, and stay monochrome until they earn their own commit.
Professional and personal project- and AI-management online system.
Yes it's a mouthful - that's why the short form stays paimos. The long form is documented, not advertised. From v2.0 onward there's a fourth resolved reading: professional and personal project- and AI-management operating system - reserved for teams building on top of paimos.
