Phase 2 - platform, now mature. Active since v2.0.0 (2026-04-26). The trigger was two of four criteria the project set for itself: workflow orchestration (a multi-action AI dispatcher with admin-tunable prompts and three control planes - CLI, MCP, REST) and a public API for integration (OpenAPI, self-describing schema, agent-context endpoints).
The v4.8 line moves the public story into Phase 3 preparation: live Zitadel-backed SSO on the ppm reference deployment, knowledge entries as first-class project context, explicit Codex and Claude Code implementation actions, profile/effort/prompt/context controls, hosted/local draft providers, repo-scoped local runners, and external harness adapters. Phase 1 - foss is still active and additive. The four readings of paimos live side by side: FOSS, Services, System, and Platform (the operating system reading). The next phase is adoption readiness; the code stays AGPL.

Yes it's a mouthful - that's why the short form stays paimos. The long form is documented, not advertised. In the current line, the operating-system reading is not only architectural: paimos can describe project context, route work to local agent runners, ask hosted or local models for draft help, apply knowledge entries as prompt presets, and keep the evidence trail attached to the same board.
